A free bet is a bet which is given to you for free which you can use to place a bet and return real money. However there are lots of different kinds of free bets and betting offers and they all have different terms and conditions depending on which bookmaker you choose.

Free bets are usually rewarded as credit rather than real cash. You’ll need to deposit your own money to claim unless you claim a no deposit bonus. The first bet you make after depositing is called your qualifying bet which activates the bonus or free bet amount and usually needs to be at minimum odds of say 1/2 (1.50) or 1/1 (2.00).

These are great if you’re heading to a race day and you want a bet in every race on the card.
