‘His next run will be his best’ – Liam’s ante-post Glorious Goodwood best bets

We’re in the middle of the British summer and that means Glorious Goodwood is just around the corner. Goodwood’s five-day extravaganza is one of Flat racing’s biggest events and there’s plenty to look forward to. Liam Bramall has picked out his three ante-post best bets that could be worth following. Check out our free tips page for daily content across British and Irish racing.

Sussex Stakes

Henry Longfellow (4/1, bet365) has taken his time to come to hand this season but Aidan O’Brien’s colt is slowly getting there. This impeccably bred three-year-old is the first foal of seven-time Group 1 winner Minding. His next run will surely be his best and if so, there’s every chance he can reverse the St James’s Palace Stakes form with Rosallion. An awesome winner of the Group 1 National Stakes at two, he’s made for racing at this level and is well capable of coming out on top.

Nassau Stakes (ante-post Nap)

Opera Singer (2/1, bet365) was a runaway winner of the Group 1 Prix Marcel Boussac at Longchamp as a juvenile and her profile suggested she would thrive at three. An injury setback meant she needed the run in the Irish 2000 Guineas but she ran well enough to finish third. She was second behind Porta Fortuna in the Coronation Stakes when last seen and the step up in trip will suit on that evidence.

King George Qatar Stakes

Big Evs (7/2, bet365) is a very fast horse and he ran a cracker to finish third in the King Charles III Stakes at Royal Ascot. Goodwood’s 5f track is very sharp and it pays to be up with the pace, which will suit him down to the ground. He managed to win over course and distance as a two-year-old and that experience should stand him in good stead.
