It’s finally here! Three outsiders at huge prices on Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival

It’s finally here! Day 1 of the Cheltenham Festival is now upon us and there’s so much to look forward to over the next four days. The first day is set to be a cracker and the racing is sure to be highly competitive. With this in mind, there’s plenty of potential to find some value at big prices. We’ve selected three outsiders on Tuesday that can outrun their massive odds. Why not check out our free tips page where we will provide a tip for every race of the Festival.

1.30 Cheltenham

Asian Master (25-1, bet365) certainly isn’t the most fancied of the Willie Mullins battalions in this race but he possesses plenty of potential. He was a narrow winner on his hurdling debut at a time when Mullins’ horses were needing their first runs badly. You surely have to mark the performance up with that in mind and he beat a useful prospect easily at Navan last time out. It would be no surprise to see this horse make the frame and the soft ground is a big plus.

2.50 Cheltenham

Chambard (50-1, William Hill) is a previous Cheltenham Festival winner and that form is very difficult to ignore. Whilst his current mark of 146 isn’t the most generous, he has to be of interest at a massive price. He won the Becher Chase at Aintree back in December and has loads of ability when on a going day. Lucy Turner knows him like the back of her hand and the partnership is maintained here.

4.50 Cheltenham

Eagles Reign (66-1, Paddy Power) has the ideal profile for this race and is clearly progressive. Ross O’Sullivan’s four-year-old got off the mark on handicap debut at Punchestown last time out and that experience should stand him in good stead for this test. There’s more to come from him and he has every chance of running well here.
