Tips for Limerick Races

Located just 3.7 miles outside of the city, Limerick Racecourse is new in relation to horse racing venues. It opened in October 2001 and stages both Flat and National Hunt racing.

Course: Both the flat and jumps track is a right-handed circuit of a mile and three furlongs. The back straight is quite steep before a descent around the home bend, leading into the straight. This means horses can steal a cheap few lengths going into the straight so it can pay for our tips to be front runners.

Draw Bias: There is a slight advantage for our tips to be drawn low over 7 furlongs at Limerick as they tackle a bend shortly after the start.

Feature Races: The Munster National is a Grade A Handicap Chase held in October every year. Recent winners include Grand National winner Tiger Roll and Ladbrokes Trophy victor Total Recall. The Greenmount Park Novice Chase has been upgraded to Grade 1 status for the first time in 2018. Just under two and a half miles, it takes place on St Stephens Day and recent winners include future top grade scorers Outlander and Bellshill.
