Tips for Tipperary Races

Staging both National Hunt and Flat racing, Tipperary Racecourse is a mere couple of miles outside of town. Racing has been staged there since 1916 when it was called Limerick Junction Racetrack, but the name was changed to it’s current state in 1986.

Course: Both the flat and jumps track is a sharp left-handed oval with a circuit of 1 mile 2 furlongs. There is a 5 furlong chute for races over the minimum distance that joins the main track at halfway.

Draw Bias: It is slightly favourable for our tips to be drawn high over 5 furlong races, particularly on softer going, as the runners come up the stands rail.

Feature Meeting: The first Sunday in October is known as ‘Super Sunday’ as the venue hosts the only meeting which contains both Graded National Hunt racing and Group Flat racing on the same card, we’ll have tips for both codes!

Road - 3km W of Tipperary town on Tipperary-Limerick road, 37km E of Limerick and 100km N of Cork.
Rail - Limerick Junction; regular service from Dublin Heuston and Cork. Within easy walking distance.
